Jim Bell
Jim Bell is the Principal Investigator of the Mastcam-Z investigation for the Mars 2020 mission’s Perseverance rover. He is an astronomer and planetary scientist and a Professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University. He has been involved in many past and current NASA Mars, lunar, and asteroid missions, including Mars Pathfinder, the Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity, and the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover. Jim is also an author of popular-level astronomy, Earth science, and planetary science books.
