Jon Proton
Jon Proton is the author of the Viewpoint software which simulates a rover in its Martian environment in 3D, like a video game, to help users plan imaging observations with rover cameras. Viewpoint was used to plan Pancam imaging on Spirit and Opportunity, is being used for Mastcam on Curiosity, and is currently in development for Mastcam-Z. Jon’s previous job was pointing the Pancam cameras on Spirit and Opportunity.
